An example of a fancy place to get married in nature, is the Masoala Hall in Zurich. This is exactly how Michael and Chantal did it. They wanted to get married in a small, personal setting, with only family and a few close friends present.

The value of a civil wedding has changed in recent years. More and more couples want to marry only civilly and do without the big celebration. But it should be more personal and special. It should have the same value as the "big" wedding.
The law actually states that marriages are only valid if they are signed in a closed room. Therefore, in Switzerland there is actually no possibility to freely choose the place of the civil marriage ceremony. For example, on a mountain or another place in nature.
It is nice to see how more and more civil offices in Switzerland have adapted to this new need of our time. In the meantime there are some fancy places where civil marriage ceremonies may be performed.
Marriage in Masoala Hall
An example of an unusual place for a civil wedding in nature is the Masoala Hall in Zurich. This is exactly what Michael and Chantal did. They wanted to get married in a small, personal setting with only family and a few close friends present.
Before the civil wedding we met on the Zurichberg, and there made a few beautiful pictures with the bride and groom. After the romantic civil wedding in the Masoala Hall, where also some tears of joy have rolled, there was a small aperitif directly in the hall.
Wedding party at Hotel Sonne in Küsnacht ZH
After the wedding ceremony we drove to the Hotel Sonne in Küsnacht ZH. There the bride and groom were warmly welcomed by other friends and acquaintances. The company was accompanied by a fine Apéro Riche. After the congratulations and group pictures, the bride and groom celebrated the wedding with their friends and family in the restaurant in the evening.
What a beautiful wedding that we always look back on fondly!
