International Cambodian Wedding with Claudia & Ratana

We love to get to know other cultures. Last year - even before Corona - we were able to experience and attend a Cambodian wedding ceremony. It is strictly not 100% Cambodian, but Claudia and Ratana incorporated many elements from Ratana's Cambodian culture into their ceremony and wedding feast.

The ceremony

First, a Cambodian ceremony took place in a multi-purpose hall with over 280 guests. The bride and groom changed clothes three times during the ceremony. There were many rituals but also western elements like the ring exchange. The ceremony ended with a huge buffet - Cambodian of course.

The wedding feast

In the afternoon we changed the location and culturally the continent. At the Hotel Thessoni in Regensdorf the afternoon started with the Getting Ready and First Look in white. During the photo shoot - but this time in white and at the Katzensee - the invited guests arrived at the hotel for the aperitif. At 7:00 pm sharp, the doors opened and nothing stood in the way of the lively wedding party...

When Claudia and Ratana asked us if we wanted to photograph their Cambodian wedding here in Switzerland, we were immediately on fire. Since we act as a team of two, the almost 16 hour reportage was also well manageable for us.

We love international, multicultural weddings, being from two different countries ourselves. It broadens our own horizons and gives new opportunities to learn about new cultures and traditions.

What remained were beautiful wedding memories in over 900 wedding pictures....
